Mac Carlton Mac is the Technology Director at Bethlehem Central School District, and not a bad little dancer. Mac has been working in the District for ten years, and this will be his eighth tech camp--Literacy Through Technology. Camp seems to be a wonderful opportunity for participants to have time, expert instructors, and equipment all in one place at their finger tips. Enjoy.
Alaine L. Cohen
Alaine has been teaching English 9 - 12 (all levels, including the heterogeneously grouped Creative Writing course) at BCHS for the past 15 years. Alaine is also the mother of two beautiful girls, ages 2 and 7. Although she have taught many Aspies in classes, nothing has opened her eyes to the unique ways a teacher must accomodate students who have been diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum as clearly as the experiences she has had since her seven-year old was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at three years old. It is Alaine's mission to ensure that the Aspie student, his/her neurotypical classmates, and the classroom teacher can all learn together in an atmosphere that provides minimum stress and maximum growth for all of us.
Janet Cassidy
Janet has an MS in Communication Disorders and Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped. She also did a semester of post graduate work at Hollins College in Virginia , and received Fluency Certification, Psych. Dept. Janet has worked with both children and adults for approximately 30 years in hospital, clinic and school settings. She is currently working at Slingerlands Elementary.
Barb Cox and Khalan Gaston
Barb Cox and Khalan Gaston will be presenting a workshop on Digital Storytelling. Barb teaches 4th grade and Khalan teaches 5th grade at Hamagrael. Both of them attended a 3-day workshop on this topic in May 2008. They were able to attend the workshop, sponsored by ISTE, because they received a grant submitted earlier in the year. Barb graduated from Siena College and Russell Sage College. Khalan graduated from The College of Saint Rose, and received her Master's degree from The University at Albany.
Amy Deitz
Amy Deitz the SUNY Oneonta and the College of St. Rose. She previously taught first grade in the district and is currently teaching fifth grade.
Beth Dounane Beth Dounane is certified as an elementary teacher, special education teacher and as a reading teacher. She has worked at BCMS since 2004. She currently teaches special education students with reading problems. Beth is a world traveler having resided in Morocco teaching students with disabilities. She has visited France, Egypt, Greece, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Canada and most recently Disney World.
Linda Grimes-Picarazzi Linda Grimes-Picarazzi is a speech language pathologist for Bethlehem CSD. She is currently pursuing a PhD in the area of Reading and Literacy at UAlbany. She has co-taught in the reading language resource room at BCMS for the past 4 years. Her special interests include exploring the reciprocal relationship between speech/language and reading/literacy and starting a backyard flock of poultry.
Pam Held
Pam Held has been with the district for three years. She graduated from SUNY Albany with a Master of Science in Information Science and is currently an elementary library media specialist.
Alison Hepfer Allison Hepfer has been with the Bethlehem Central School District for ten years. She taught first grade for seven years and will be teaching kindergarten next year.
Beth Kourt and Laurel Jones
Beth Kourt and Laurel Jones are 4th grade teachers at Clarksville. They have really enjoyed adding a bit of technology to Reading and Writing Workshop. They will provide you with a down to earth approach to adding some to your class as well.

Mary is a speech-language pathologist with 29 years of experience; the last 10 with Bethlehem School District. She has worked with preschool through high school aged students, and is currently working at the middle school level. Mary collaborates with Jen Steil, reading teacher, to meet the speech, language and reading IEP goals for students with special needs through the use of technology.
Lizette Leibold Lizette teaches French and Spanish at BCHS. She came to BC after almost 20 years teaching at Averill Part High School. Lizette is devoting most of her time to learning a new way to teach languages, Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling or TPRS. She is also into anything that makes a teacher's life easier, which is why she loves Easy Grade Pro. Lizette feels this grading program does everything a teacher would want: class rosters, seating charts,customized progress reports and as they say "much, much, more." Eleanor Lopes
Eleanor served as a middle school and high school teacher of mathematics. She has also taught a mathematics methods class at Arcadia University. She is certified to teach mathematics in three states: Georgia, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Eleanor was an educational consultant for ETA/Cuisenaire (2001-2004) and has served as a Mathematics Consultant with Pearson Prentice Hall since 2004.

Eileen Pasquini is an Assistive Technology Specialist in the Bethlehem Central School District PPS office. She is responsible for assessing appropriate technology to support the education of students with special need. In addition, she provides training and supports in the classroom and directly to students, staff and families. Her position is across all grade levels and involves all types of technology from low to high.
Jennifer Steil
Jen is a Reading Specialist at BCMS. She taught 9 years of middle school ELA and 4 years of reading/writing lab. Jen works with both regular and special education students, collaborating with ELA, special education, and speech and language teachers.
Dianna Reagan
Dianna has been teaching at BC for 19 years. She is currently the principal of our new elementary school, Eagle, and has also served as the District's Language Arts Supervisor for grades K-5. Dianna has always had an interest in technology and has been technology instructor for various workshops throughout her career including tech camp, model schools, and literacy camp.
Susan Reynell
Susan, of Reynell Educational Resources, has teaching experience encompassing Grades 1-4. Susan holds an MEd. from
Nazareth College, Rochester, NY. For almost 20 years, she has been an independent representative for a variety of educational publishers. Susan takes pride in identifying and promoting the best resources available for educators and districts across the upper half of New York State. She is pleased to have the opportunity to display professional books from many publishers at the BCSD Literacy Camp.
Jody Wexler
Jody L. Wexler started working for Apple in February, 2008. She has a degree in Psychology and has been involved in Special Education, Training and Educational Technologies since 1993. In her spare time, Jody enjoys martial arts, music, travel and technology.
